Paper Paintings
I have discovered something
in the mash that makes paper.
It wants to return to the earth.
A little water washes it away.
It’s fibers found in flora
interlock, find each other,
desire connection. The colors merge
toward their source the mother
of all matter. Mystery remains.
I mix them to match the nature
of things. I imitate the source
piling them one on another
hoping to see my face shine
from the layers. Creator,
you know me. Still my anxious
desires. Let the glaze you gave to cover
your glory, dissolve in the grace
that radiates from all things dissolving,
revealing delight found
only in your face.
